Local couple wins $58,000 in lottery

Jul 22, 2013 -- 9:23am

A Perryville couple has claimed a $58,000 prize from a July 3 Missouri Lottery drawing.

Kathy and Steven Reitzel used their own numbers to come up with a winning combination in the daily drawing Show Me Cash game. The couple bought their ticket at St. Joe's General Store in Perryville, which received a $500 bonus for selling a winner. The other half of the $116,000 prize went to a man from Maryland Heights.  The state lottery also reports that two local stores, Huck's Food Store in Cape Girardeau and Country Mart in Jackson, sold more than $1 million in lottery products each in 2012, providing more than $500,000 for education in the state.  The lottery sales at Huck's Food Store generated more than $263,000 for public education and sales at Country Mart produced more than $261,000, and both stores were inducted into the Missouri Lottery's Million Dollar Club.
