Check out visionary women artists at Crisp Museum at Southeast Missouri State University

Visionary Women Artists: Selections from the Wells Fargo Art Collection” will be on display for free beginning Aug. 2nd in the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus. Museum Director Peter Nguyen (WEN) tells KZIM KSIM this is the first exhibit of solely women artists in the museum. You are invited to attend its opening reception from 5-8 p.m.  on First Friday. The exhibit will remain on display through Oct. 27th . A gallery talk by Dr. Joni Hand, assistant professor of art history at Southeast, is scheduled for 6 p.m. on September 10th. The talk will focus on a few of the women represented in this exhibition and how truly visionary they were for their time. The exhibit’s 47 prints and photographs cover a broad spectrum, ranging from abstract expressionist pieces to more contemporary work by women artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.
