Hundreds of Ameren Missouri customers in Cape found themselves without power Monday afternoon. Ameren Missouri Representative Kent Martin tells KZIM-KSIM that the outage occurred around 2:30 and 3pm, but they were unsure as to the cause. Martin says they do not believe the failure was heat related, but could be the age of the power lines in the area. The outages—in areas of retail and local businesses near Bloomfield and Siemers Drive—were found to be more of an inconvenience. A total of 833 customers were affected.
