Two students get an insight look at the political process

Aug 10, 2012 -- 11:30am

Two Perry County students got to learn a little more about the political process thanks to Citizen’s Electric Corporation.  Rachel Gruenwald and Solomon Melchoir were among 98 high school students from Missouri who took part in the Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience.  During the day students would divide into fictional political parties at the capitol and learned how a bill becomes a law.  CEC Spokesperson Libby Roerig tells KZIM-KSIM they select top students to participate. Citizen’s Electric is a non-profit electric utility serving nearly 27-thousand members.  For more information on the CYCLE Program visit www.AMEC.org.
