Aug 02, 2013 -- 10:13am

A Charleston woman is facing charges after deputies say she was allegedly trying to sneaking drugs and paraphernalia into the Mississippi County Jail. 42-year old Valery Davis was booked last weekend on a Cape Girardeau County warrant for drug distribution. Davis was charged with felony delivery, possession and concealment of a controlled substance within a county jail, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Sheriff’s deputies say a small plastic baggie with twenty Alprazolam pills was concealed in an inmate’s undergarments. A pipe was also found. Davis was taken to the Mississippi County Detention Center under $25,000 bond. She has a preliminary hearing scheduled for August 14.
