The key to this is allowing your child to plan what they eat and you leading by example. Steinbach tells KZIM KSIM 60-percent of students say they “pack a lunch” at least three times a week… and have fun with it! Get different shaped and colorful pastas for a cool salad with veggies! Cut sandwiches with lean deli meats into fun shapes! Or make a sandwich kabob with meat, low fat cheese and whole grain bread on a straw! With 12-million children and adolescents considered obese – good nutrition is paramount to ward off weight related disease.
