The Broadway construction is staying well ahead of schedule

Aug 16, 2012 -- 12:41pm

Workers continue to head west down Broadway Street for the remodeling of the corridor.  Crews are currently at the Ellis Street intersection and well ahead of the schedule.  The project was scheduled to re-pave and add street features to the Broadway Corridor from Water Street to Pacific.  Construction crews were given 21 days at each intersection for updates but have managed to stay nearly a week ahead of schedule.  Cape Girardeau City Engineer Casey Brunke tells KZIM-KSIM they have already heard community feedback. The lighting is expected to be delivered in the next couple of weeks and begin to be installed.  The contractor is obligated to have the roadwork completed by November 5th.  You can keep up with the progress at www.cityofCapeGirardeau.org.
