One person has died after a two vehicle crash in Graves County, Kentucky. State transportation spokesperson Keith Todd tells KZIM-KSIM that it occurred Tuesday on Jackson Purchase Parkway at the 24 mile marker northbound, outside of Mayfield. The driver of a passenger vehicle approached a spray truck escort from behind and merged left to pass, then immediately merged right again, striking the sprayer truck from the back. The driver of the car is reportedly a fatality. 70-year-old Joseph Armiger of Benton, Kentucky was driving northbound in a pick-up truck, was trapped in his vehicle and died at the scene. Todd says the transportation worker was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The remainder of the liquid grass and weed killer that was in the tank of the spray truck spilled onto the northbound lanes of the Purchase Parkway, resulting in a temporary closure. The Graves County Sheriff is investigating the crash.
