The Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce will be honoring local educators next week

Oct 09, 2013 -- 5:00pm

The Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual Business After Hours Educator Appreciation Reception Tuesday October 15th at the Show Me Center to celebrate excellent educators from the area. V.P. for Community Development for the Chamber Tim Arbieter tells KZIM KSIM that in late April and May they asked people in the community to nominate educators who they thought were stood above the rest in their field. Arbieter says the Chamber appreciates educators at all levels. He says it is a difficult  and challenging job, but it is very rewarding. This year’s honorees are Heather Fisher of Blanchard Elementary, Mary LeGrand, Ellen Pannier, and Julie Stausing of Central High School, and Dr. Willie Redmond of Southeast Missouri State University. The doors for the event will open at 4:00 p.m.
