Animal Welfare Alliance gets help from mall

Oct 15, 2013 -- 3:00pm

If you’ve been putting off cleaning out the spare room or finding a home for that old chair, now is the time to do it!  The Animal welfare Alliance has reached an agreement with the new Consignment Mall of Poplar Bluff.  You can now donate gently used furniture or home décor items to AWA through the resale store.  When an AWA-tagged item is sold, the Consignment Mall will give 70 percent of the sale price to AWA.  The 30 percent share will go to cover operating expenses for the mall.  Owner and operator Roger Hogg says that donated items are limited to furniture, lamps, and home décor, and they need you to call first to bring in your items.  The mall also offers pick-up service for a fee.  The mall is on Sunset, just off Westwood Boulevard, and is open 10am to 6pm.  The AWA is wording toward construction of a no-kill shelter in the Poplar Bluff area.  For more info, visit
