Saturday, September 8th the Hunter Valley Winery will be ROCKIN’!! Six bands will be performing for the Howard Aslinger Foundation Music Fest. Kari Simon says Rip Lee, the Mike Renick Band, 4 Years Apart, The Intention, Shades of Soul, and the Southern Brothers will all be performing in an effort to raise money in memory of her dad! He grew up in SE Missouri and was an American Family Insurance Agent for years. He had polio and was restricted to his wheelchair. They are now trying to fund the education of a person with disabilities. Bring lawn chairs for lawn seating. Tickets are 25-dollars in advance or 35 at the door. Call 837-5956. Simon says they began fundraising in 2009 and want this to be an inaugural event to continue many years in the future! And in the words of her father… “It’s not a handicap, it’s an inconvenience”. The music fest is from noon to 10pm.
