A Cape man will appear in court tomorrow on his arrest for flag desecration. In October 2009 Frank Snider was arrested after expressing his disagreement with the government by attempting to burn a flag no the sidewalk in front of his home. A neighbor called police and Snider was arrested and held for 8 hours. Soon after he was released and charges were dropped. Snider pursued the matter in federal court claiming his constitutional rights were violated. US District Judge Carol Jackson will hear the case. Jackson earlier this year sided with Snider and also stopped the state from enforcing a statute barring flag desecration in Missouri. The case will be heard at the federal courthouse in Cape Girardeau.
