As Tropical Storm Isaac edges closer to the Gulf Coast relief agencies are preparing for the worst. Southeast Missouri’s chapter of the Red Cross is sending volunteers to help in Florida if conditions worsen. They dispatched four people along with their Emergency Response Vehicles. Kathy Haas, Maggie Makins, Glenn and Martha Harmon will make the trip. Volunteer Services Manager Anne Knopf tells KZIM-KSIM their crew provides a variety of experience. Initial reports call for possible flooding and up to 12 inches of rain in Florida. The Republican National Convention scheduled in Tampa has contingency plans in place in case of emergency but will go on despite the weather.
