Poplar Bluff Bank Robbery

On Tuesday at approximately 11:28 am Officers with the Poplar Bluff Police Department were dispatched to the Poplar Bluff Federal Credit Union located at 221 North 5th St in reference to a Robbery complaint.   Bank employees told Officers that a white male entered the bank and gave one of the tellers a note in which he demanded the teller give him cash, or he would detonate a bomb.  The teller pulled $1,500.00 from the drawer and placed it on the counter, the suspect grabbed the cash and fled the building.  A short time later, police received a call which identified the suspect in this robbery as 27-year-old David Joiner of Poplar Bluff; and advised that he was at his house.  Officers responded to the residence, and Joiner was taken into custody without incident.  At the time of his arrest, the $1,500.00 taken during the robbery was found on Joiner’s person. He was transported to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, and booked in on a charge of Robbery 1st degree, he was later lodged in the Butler County Jail.
