The kick off of the United Way of SE Missouri 2012 campaign was today at 11am at Cape West 14 Cine! Executive Director Nancy Jernigan says they need you to “Lend a hand, Raise Your Voice, and Make a Difference in YOUR Community! The theme remains LIVE UNITED! Jernigan says they are going to have (had) some fun with Olympic events like carrying coffee on a balance beam and mastering the rubber ball and paddle challenge while they honor ambassadors and volunteers. She tells KZIM KSIM they are setting their goal with the state of the economy in mind since last year they didn’t quite get there! They fell about 10-thousand dollars short - but in this economy they are proud of that! The United Way of SE Missouri funds 38 agencies who serve over 50 programs in our area.
