Marble Hill Mayor Nick Hendricks confirmed Monday that the board of aldermen made the decision to dismiss City administrator Tammy Whitney Thursday night following a 90-minute special-called executive session. The Southeast Missourian reports that Hendricks says the decision to dismiss Whitney "happened rather fast," but declined to say what prompted the action. Though, Whitney and Alderman Kenneth Trentham have disagreed about procedures for seeking bids and giving Christmas bonuses to city employees. Until a new city administrator can be found, Hendricks says that he will assume most of Whitney's administrative responsibilities with help from the aldermen. The board has not discussed their next steps.
