You can ride for a good cause in Southeast Missouri this weekend

Sep 06, 2012 -- 12:23pm

For the third straight year, you can hop on your motorcycle or car and ride for local veterans this weekend.  The 3rd annual Vets and Fallen Heroes Poker Run begins Saturday at 11 AM at the Jackson Elks Lodge parking lot.  The 125-mile route takes you through the back roads of Northern Cape County, Frohna, Perryville, to Marble Hill and back to Jackson.  Riders will then gather at the lodge for food, live auction, door prizes, and a live band.  Coordinator Randy Eggimann tells KZIM KSIM all proceeds help people at the Missouri Veterans Home.  Eggimann says they believe in filling the gaps for these vets, who may have no family to help them.  He says they will award prizes for the best and worst poker hand.  All bikes and cars are welcome.  The cost is 10-dollars per person or 15-dollars per couple.
