Four regional teenagers are National Merit Semifinalists!  Cape Central High School led the area list announced Wednesday with two; Notre Dame Regional High School had one along with Poplar Bluff.  Central’s Pendleton Robinson and Josh Sander will now compete with Notre Dame’s Matt Thompson and Poplar Bluff’s Austin McWilliams for more than 32-million-dollars in Merit-based college scholarships this spring.  Cape Central Principal Mike Cowan tells KZIM KSIM they are very proud to lead the area with these two remarkable students.  The four local honorees are among 16-thousand seniors nationwide who qualified through the National Merit Scholarship Corporation by taking the P-SAT qualifying test their junior year.  They must now go through a process to be named a finalist in February before competing for one of 83-hundred scholarships this spring.
