MidAmerica Hotels Corporation announced Friday they will build a new hotel in Cape in the next two years.  The company has entered into an agreement with Hilton for an 80-room Hampton Inn to be located behind their Holiday Inn property in the Park West Hospitality Center.  It will be next to two other hotels and adjacent to restaurants and retail shops.  The New Hampton will break ground in 2013 and be open by late 2014.  MidAmerica director of hotel operations John Echimovich tells KZIM KSIM this will bring their Cape hotel room offering to 315 total sleeping rooms.  Echimovich says the Hampton brand appeals to the leisure traveler and business person, with an affordable room, free breakfast, and online access.  MidAmerica opened the Holiday Inn Express in Cape in June 2005.  They operate a Hampton Inn on I-55 in South Saint Louis.
