A final total from the 7th annual Southeast Missouri Walk for Women is still being calculated, but officials say it is a record year. Senior Associate Director of Athletics Cindy Gannon tells KZIM/KSIM there were more than 400 people who participated Saturday and exceeded the $50,000 raised in 2013. Early Monday morning the total was $73,806 and she says there is still money coming in to be added to that total. The event allowed athletes to interact with the community young and old and provided opportunities for them to network with people in their future career fields. Gannon says they are hoping to draw more alumni to the event next year by making a whole weekend of fun events for them to come back and participate.
