A Matthews man goes back to court for child molestation

Jun 25, 2012 -- 10:47am

A Matthews man in jail for allegedly molesting a child goes to court in August.  On January 6th, the mother of a seven-year-old girl reported to DPS Officers that her daughter had been inappropriately touched by her grandmother's boyfriend.  Reportedly the seven-year-old would occasionally sleep with the man while spending the night with her grandmother.  It was during these times that the alleged molestation occurred.  A forensic interview of the child with the Beacon Health Center revealed the abuse.  65-year-old Jewel Gross of Matthews is charged with five counts of Child Molestation.  He pled not guilty and had his case shifted to Jackson.  Gross will have a psychological exam this summer and next appear August 27th before Judge Ben Lewis in Cape County.
