The Amen center in Delta is a Christian based homeless center located on Highway N in a converted elementary school. Spokesperson Kim Mitchell says it costs 4-thousad-8-hundred dollars a month to keep it running! So they are getting creative on how to raise money. She tells KZIM KSIM their clients are hopefully short term but every situation differs. Last month there were 45, now there are 25. They help in finding jobs and getting people back into homes. Often people need a temporary home due to setbacks like; tragedy, crisis, or death in the family. This is a hard time as they transition in life. The 5K and 1mile walk is this Saturday beginning at the Amen Center. Registration is going on now and will continue til race time at 8am. Call Mitchell to get started at 382-1247. Trophies or medals will be awarded to the top male and female finishers. The cost is 25-dollars.
