A Tallapoosa man facing murder charges in the death of a woman in New Madrid County has a preliminary hearing in July.  According to the Sheriff’s Office, 36-year old Maria Slavings of Tallapoosa was killed May 5^th inside a home on County Road 2-43.  Investigators allege she died of a gunshot wound.  46-year old Timothy Richmond was arrested in connection to the murder.  He was Slavings’ boyfriend at the time and is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action.  He pled not guilty and is being held on a 100-thousand dollar bond.  Richmond appeared Thursday before Judge Charles Spittler and has a preliminary hearing July 12^th in New Madrid.
