In response to the heat advisory issued for southeast Missouri the Red Cross has teamed up with Cape Girardeau Parks and Rec department to open a cooling center. From now until the 4th of July the Osage Center on Kingshighway will open their doors to cool you off. They provide an air conditioned room where you can escape the heat for as long as you need. Red Cross Spokeswoman Sara Gerau tells KZIM-KSIM this is a time to be aware of everyone’s needs. The center’s hours will be Monday through Thursday from 6 to 10, Friday from 6 to 6, Saturday from 9 to 4 and Sunday noon to 9. For more information you can call 573-339-6342.
