The dry conditions may be keeping people away from fireworks stands so far this week!  Burn bans are effect all across the region and most have banned the use of fireworks.  Rick Hoffman operates Hoffman Family Fireworks locations in Cape, Jackson, Chaffee, Advance, and Marble Hill.  He’s been in the business for over 50 years in the region and says this is worst he’s ever seen in regards to extended heat without rain.  Hoffman tells KZIM KSIM they’re having to find ways to increase sales while being sensitive to safety concerns.  Hoffman says they are handing out flyers to every customer expressing the importance of knowing what fireworks do when you shoot them off, keep water nearby, and have a designated shooter and observer at all times.  He says they have rid their shelves of the notorious dangerous items like bottle rockets, and other aerial missiles.  Hoffman’s locations will offer special deals to say thanks to their customers starting this weekend.
