The Community Counseling Center Foundation is hosting a new event this year! A Craft beer festival!

Sep 20, 2012 -- 6:34pm

The Community Counseling Center Foundation is well known for their annual wine tasting festival. This year they are adding a craft beer festival to raise funds for the mental health Programs at the counseling center. Executive Director Larry Essner says the inaugural event will host twenty microbreweries with samples of over seventy beers! There will be home brewing demonstrations, live music, prizes, and food available for purchase. Chief Financial Officer at the Community Counseling Center, Tim Schwendt tells KZIM KSIM since the closing of the Farmington care center they have gotten much busier and need funds to keep up! But Schwendt says they do it better at the local level, keep people in our community, and they do it all cheaper than the state can! They usually meet their operational expenses without many problems but the Foundation fundraisers help keep up with computers and other ever changing technologies. The expansion of the facility is also about to get underway. The Cape Girardeau Craft Beer Festival is October 6th from noon to 4pm in Arena Park. Advanced tickets are 30-dollars. They will be 35 at the gate. Get them at CCC Locations. The center is a not-for-profit service to Cape, Bollinger, Madison, Ste. Genevieve, and Perry Counties.
