A trial for a man arrested for a Charleston homicide continues! Officers were called to the scene of a man shot in the 700-block of Gail Street November 10th, 2010. They found 22-year-old Justine Wright of Hayti inside his car with several gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police arrested 20-year-old Javon Jones and charged him with 1st-degree murder, robbery, and armed criminal action. He pled not guilty before Judge David Dolan. Jones’ trial began Thursday before an all female jury. The prosecutor presented four witnesses on the stand. The trial resumed at 8:30 Friday morning. The state is expected to rest its case by early this afternoon. Jones faces up to life in prison if convicted.
