The USA Veterans 4th of July festivities will go on Wednesday in spite of the hot dry conditions! The group is sponsoring a full day of activities including a washers tournament, beer drag race, demo derby, patriotic presentation and fireworks show at Arena Park in Cape. Event organizer Rodger Brown says they’re aware of the dry ground and burn ban in the city. He tells KZIM KSIM they will have all events as scheduled regardless of the heat. Brown says they’re hoping the city strongly discouraging the use of fireworks by residents will raise their attendance figures at the show! You can get general admission tickets to the Derby at 10-dollars each or grandstand box seats at 20-dollars. Food and beer vendors will be available. If you need tickets or want to help donate to the fireworks show, call 573-579-3932. Jackson’s Independence Day events are also going on as planned!
