A suspect wanted on nine outstanding warrants is now in police custody after a standoff Thursday in Wayne County. The Highway Patrol arrested 50-year-old Billy Hancock at a home near Higway-34 at 10 PM. He was arrested without incident after 20 troopers, deputies, and agents surrounded the home. Patrol Trooper Clark Parrott tells KZIM KSIM they approached the search warrant with caution, knowing he was most likely armed and dangerous. Parrott says they are still trying to find out if someone harbored him after he fled from a traffic stop Tuesday. Hancock was wanted on numerous felony warrants, including assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. He is being held in Wayne County Jail without bond and goes to court July 19th.
