A Hayti mother facing charges after a child is burned with an iron pleads not guilty.  The Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation in March of a child being physically abused.  27-year old Angela Smith of Hayti is charged with endangering the welfare of a child.  They believe the one year old was burned with a hot iron.  The baby and her siblings were removed from the home and placed in foster care.  Smith pled not guilty Tuesday.  She will be back in court August 7th in Caruthersville before Judge Fred Copeland.
