A Hayti mother facing charges after a child is burned with an iron pleads not guilty.  The Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation in March of a child being physically abused.  27-year old Angela Smith of Hayti is charged with endangering the welfare of a child.  They believe the one year old was burned with a hot iron.  The baby and her siblings were removed from the home and placed in foster care.  Smith pled not guilty Tuesday.  She will be back in court August 7^th in Caruthersville before Judge Fred Copeland.
