Kent Zickfield has been an active business owner in downtown Cape since 1980.  He began working in his family’s jewelry store on North Main Street at the age of 15.  Since then, Zickfield has served on the Old Town Cape board of directors, noon optimists club, and has been an advocate for downtown development.  He will be honored this week as the 2012 Spirit of America award winner.  Zickfield will receive a plaque Wednesday at 6 PM at the USA Veterans 4^th of July celebration at Arena Park.  He tells KZIM KSIM he enjoys being a part of helping Cape to thrive.  Zickfield says he’s a firm believer in the Old Town mission to promote the economic development of the downtown areas.  He joins previous award winners like Dave Hitt, Harry Rediger, and Melvin Gateley.
