Atmos Energy natural gas customers in Jackson, Oak Ridge, Fruitland, and Sikeston will start seeing a new logo on their bills in August.  Liberty Utilities has been given all federal and state regulatory approval to acquire Atmos business in Illinois, Missouri, and Iowa.  It’s expected to close August 1^st.  Liberty has agreed not to increase non-gas rates through 2013.  Atmos public affairs manager Steve Green tells KZIM KSIM this acquisition will be a benefit to this area.  Green says Liberty has over 250-thousand customers in six states and is known for being a ‘customer-friendly’ company.  The Missouri Public Service Commission gave its approval in March.  Atmos announced in May 2011 it agreed to sell its natural gas distribution systems to Liberty for about 124-million-dollars.
