While no one was injured, one person was in custody after the Perryville Police responded to a bomb threat Thursday morning at the McDonald's restaurant in Perryville. The call came in just before 8 o’clock from an employee, who told dispatch a customer said something about "blowing our heads off" while sitting at a table in the restaurant. The individually reportedly had a large military style ruck sack. The restaurant and a MotoMart gas station nearby were evacuated. Officers called in the Southeast Missouri Regional Bomb Squad and were also assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Perry County Sheriff's Department, ATF and the FBI. Police say an X-ray of the backpack revealed there was not a device inside. Perryville Police Chief Direk Hunt says a person was taken into custody in connection with the threat but will not be charged.
