A Malden man is in jail after an incident with fireworks on Sunday.  Officers with the Malden Police Department were investigating a call on the 300 block of East Peck when their vehicle was struck with a flaming projectile.  The explosion caused damage to the car as well as temporary hearing loss for the officers.  One suffered a burn to his arm and damage to his uniform.  They were able to identify Demetrius Wofford as he fled on foot.  While making an un-related court appearance on Tuesday Wofford was arrested and charged with assault of a law enforcement officer and armed criminal action.  He is being held in the Dunklin County Jail on a 100-thousand dollar bond.
