USA Veterans satisfied with turnout at their 4th of July event

Jul 05, 2012 -- 11:35am

The USA Veterans local chapter doesn’t have final attendance figures yet but they are satisfied with the turnout Wednesday at their 4th annual 4th of July event.  The celebration at Arena Park was scaled back this year from four days to one, with a Demo Derby, Stag Drag Race, washers tournament, and fireworks show.  USA spokesman Rodger Brown tells KZIM KSIM they put on the day to remember our freedom.  Brown says they still have plans to open their new Trail of Tears Bar and Grill at 5-19 Good Hope Street in the next month.  The revenues from that will help with the 4th of July bills and establishing a rehab center for veteran amputees.  If you enjoyed the fireworks show, you can still donate to the USA Veterans group at 587-3932.  Last year, 35-hundred people attended the four-day festivities.
