Former Circuit an appellate judge Stanley Grimm passes away in St. Louis

Sep 28, 2012 -- 12:38pm

Former Missouri Court of Appeals judge Stanley Grimm of Cape passed away Thursday at a Saint Louis hospital following heart surgery.  He was 79.  He served as circuit judge in Cape, Bollinger, and Perry Counties from 1973 to 1987.  Grimm was then appointed to the Court of Appeals until his retirement in 1998.  Current Circuit Judge William Syler worked with Grimm when Syler was an assistant Cape County prosecutor in the mid 70’s.  He tells KZIM KSIM Grimm was a top example of what it means to be a judge.  Grimm is survived by three sons, including John Grimm Junior, who also served as a circuit judge from 1993 to 2003.  Visitation is set for Sunday from 4 to 8 PM at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Road Chapel.  His memorial service is Monday at 1:30 PM at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape.
