Most people of driving age know it is dangerous, if not lethal, to text while driving. Yet 75-percent of us still do it. Regional Director of External Affairs with A T & T, Marsha Haskell says though they provide the telecommunications service they are pushing a campaign to alert customers of the danger… especially for beginners behind the wheel. 39 states have laws prohibiting texting while driving yet an injury or fatality accident occurs every five minutes in connection to the inattention of looking at or sending a text. Haskell tells KZIM KSIM a ten minute video titled “The Last Text” at it-can-wait-cot-com has been a useful tool… She is convinced that anyone who watches the video will take the pledge to never text and drive again. It is very powerful. Haskell says A T & T also has “No Text on Board” signs for cars available. Representatives are visiting local schools hoping to save lives by spreading stories of those who have lost loved ones to texting and driving. Call Haskell to book a presentation – 334-9882.
