A local road will be named for a man who played a key role in bringing the casino to Cape

Jul 10, 2012 -- 7:59pm

A small stretch of roadway from Big bend Road to the river wall with access to the north side of the Isle of Capri Casino is being named for a man who was integral in getting the casino built in Cape Girardeau. Mayor Harry Rediger says he met Paul Keller - the Vice President of Development with Isle - as we applied for the13th gambling-casino license in Missouri. Rediger tells KZIM KSIM the story gets sad after that… Paul was instrumental is the development agreement with the city, Scott Meyer, and the Mayor along with the Isle of Capri. He found out he had cancer and died earlier this spring. Rediger met with Keller’s family at a memorial service and they were thrilled and humbled to have Paul remembered in such a way. “Paul Keller Way” will be dedicated on Monday the 16th at 10am. Just in time for the gaming equipment to be delivered and the casino to open in early November. The public is invited to observe.
