The Sikeston Air Evac Team is celebrating a milestone this weekend with 25 years of service to the area.  As the preeminent provider of air ambulance services they cover southeast Missouri, Western Kentucky and southern Illinois.  The base was originally located in Cape but moved to Sikeston in 2004 and today the company has a network of 109 bases in 15 states.  Sikeston Program Director Laurie Schaefer tells KZIM-KSIM it takes a lot support to do their job. Schaefer adds the community support of the Air Evac Membership has been a driving force.  Those who take part are absolved of any out of pocket expenses if flown by the team by paying an annual fee.  The base invites you to join them Saturday at their head quarters from 4 to 7 PM for a BBQ and open house.
