A Stoddard County man behind bars for allegedly shooting his son in Catron will stand trial. 40-year-old Charles Goforth was arrested May 5th on 2nd-degree murder and armed criminal action. Detectives interviewed residents and found Goforth shot his son, 20-year-old Patrick, once in the head with a handgun at Charles’s house on County Road 7-91. Patrick was rushed to Missouri Delta Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Charles was under the influence of Bath Salts at the time of the murder and remains jailed on a 750-thousand-dollar cash only bond. Goforth was bound over Monday to the circuit court after his preliminary hearing. He will appear before Judge Stephen Sharp on the 17th for an arraignment.
