Crews are in the homestretch for the Broadway Corridor Project in Cape Girardeau! The four point five million dollar project began in April on Main Street and is expected to be complete next week. Currently crews are paving the intersection at Pacific and Broadway Streets. The work was scheduled to be completed before the Isle of Capri Casino’s grand opening next month. City Engineer Casey Brunke tells KZIM-KSIM there were complications with this part of the project. Storm sewer work is still expected on Ellis Street but is expected to be done quickly. Each location has been reopened ahead of schedule. Landscaping has already been started and lights being hung. The city will add benches and bike racks once they are shipped in.
