A retired Missouri Highway Patrol Trooper charged with sex crimes

A retired Missouri Highway Patrol Trooper is facing charges for sexually molesting an underage girl and assaulting another.  Wednesday 77-year old James Hall of Neosho turned himself into the Newton County Sheriff’s Department.  He faces first degree child molestation and third degree assault.  He has posted a five thousand dollar bond and was released.  Both victims were 11 year old girls according to authorities.  The investigation began after the mother of one victim called contacted authorities.  The Missouri attorney general’s office filed the charges and prosecuting the case.  Hall served on the state patrol from 1964 to 1997.
