The Isle Cape Casino announces a grand opening date in late October

Oct 15, 2012 -- 3:02pm

After more than 15 months of construction, the new Isle Cape Casino will officially open to the public October 30th!  The company made that announcement Monday.  A ribbon cutting on their front porch will take place at 10:30 AM.  They will then open their doors to gamblers.  The 135-million-dollars property features just under a thousand slot machines, 28 table games, 5 new restaurants, and 750-seat event center.  Isle had over 8-thousand applications submitted for more than 450 new jobs.  They are undergoing orientation this week.  Isle Cape general manager Chet Koch tells KZIM KSIM they are excited to give this area a new, fun choice for entertainment.  Koch says this will be a 24-7 operation but by state law, they must close for one hour per week.  He says they are still hiring for full and part-time positions and that will continue indefinitely.  The opening was originally slated for late December but that was pushed back thanks in part to great construction weather over the course of the project.
