The nation’s newest paddle wheeler is dovetailing on a sold-out cruising season by adding new boardings next year. The Queen of the Mississippi is a 150-passenger luxury riverboat, that’s about to end its inaugural year on the River. The Queen made two stops in downtown Cape this summer and fall, August 30th and one coming up November 5th. Their parent company American Cruise Lines has announced a larger schedule for 2013, that will include 4 stops in Cape. American Sales Director Susan Schultz tells KZIM KSIM they have received nothing but raving reviews from guests so far! Passengers are paying from 4-to-7-thousand-dollars for a 7-day cruise. Schultz says they are now in the process of building another paddle wheeler at a Maryland shipyard that will complement the Queen with additional cruises along the Mississippi in 2014. Meanwhile, the larger, American Queen Riverboat will make one more stop in downtown Cape November 13th.
