Jasmine, a stray dog that was being held at the open-air SEMO Animal Rescue facility, is recovering after suffering burns from a caustic chemical. On October 11th or 12th someone managed to pour a liquid on the dog’s head and body causing burns severe enough she lost skin. The next afternoon one of the workers found Jasmine and rushed her to a vet. Now the group In Defense of Animals has added to the reward for the person responsible. IDA Emergency Response Coordinator Eric Phelps tells KZIM-KSIM catching whoever is responsible is important to future cases. IDA has added $700 to the reward fund making it a total of $1,000. If you have any information you are urged to contact Lilbourn police at 688-2513.
